Assessment Session

The first session is called an 'Assessment' session, to help us get an understanding of what it is that you are struggling with and how it is impacting your life. The session will last 60 minutes and will also involve exploring any relevant experiences from earlier in your life. At the end of the session, we will discuss what your goals are and I will outline what therapy is likely to involve in order to support you to move forward in line with these.

We start by forming a psychological formulation (shared understanding of what is maintaining your difficulties) and then explore ways to break the cycle of anxiety, trauma and depression.
